Product Description (for airports, fueling areas, ports & industrial sites in KSA)
X-Seal FR200 is a high performance fuel resistant sealant designed for concrete joints subject to attack from fuels, chemicals and biodegradation. Its jet fuel and flame resistance makes it ideal for sealing joints where fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid and Skydrol spillage may occur—such as airport fueling locations, highway fuelling stations, ports and wharfage.
It can also be used for wastewater structures, industrial plants, pavements, roads and walkways. To speed up cure times, X-Seal FR200 can be applied hot using specialized heated pumps (recommended only for very large projects at low ambient temperatures).
Unlike many similar products, X-Seal FR200 is formulated with a high level of ozone resistance. This supports exceptional UV and weathering resistance and improves long-term durability of the joint—highly relevant for outdoor pavements and airside environments in Saudi Arabia.

Joint Design Considerations & Installation Guidelines
Joint design considerations
- X-Seal FR200 has a movement accommodation factor (MAF) of 25%. It can be applied in joints 5 mm (3/16") to 50 mm (2") wide.
- Movement joints should be designed to allow a sealant width-to-depth ratio between 1½:1 and 1:1.
- To accommodate movement over the full width of the sealant, the sealant must be debonded at the base of the joint.
- Concrete pavement joints are subject to vehicular traffic. Joint sealants should be fully supported and recessed so the sealant does not extrude above the pavement surface during movement cycles.
- For maximum performance, joint edges must be primed with X-Seal FR200 Primer.
General installation note (method statements)
Joint preparation
Joints should be accurately formed. Joint edges must be sound, dry and free from contaminants. Prepare joint edges by grit blasting, grinding or wire brushing to produce a rough clean surface. Ensure the joint is formed to the required depth, and any expansion joint filler is tightly packed in place. For joints in asphalt, consult your representative for priming and joint detailing advice.
Priming (X-Seal FR200 Primer)
- Use X-Seal FR200 Primer and apply to joint sides using a clean, dry paint brush; work primer into the substrate.
- After priming, debond the base of the joint using siliconized debonding tape over the joint filler board.
- Apply X-Seal FR200 once primer is touch dry. Apply within 1 to 3 hours after priming.
- If primer dries longer than 3 hours, re-prime surfaces before applying the sealant.
Mixing (two-part system)
- Add the entire contents of Part A (curing agent) to Part B (base component).
- Mix with an X-Seal mixing paddle using a slow speed drill: mix 1 minute, scrape sides, then mix 3 minutes more.
- Mixed sealant temperature should be between 10°C and 40°C.
Application
- Apply using a sealant gun designed for pouring grade sealants or use direct from the can.
- Sealant should be slightly recessed.
- Apply within 45 minutes of mixing at 25°C.
- For large projects: mixing/installation can be performed using a low pressure proportioning pump and static mixer (use recommended equipment guidance).
- Hot application using specialized heated pumps can be used to speed cure times; recommended only for very large projects at low ambient temperatures.
Cleaning
Limitations
- Do not apply in rain or wet conditions, or at temperatures below 5°C.
- Do not part mix.
- Do not fully immerse the joint sealant until full cure is achieved.
