A clear route from application to specification
An application method does not define a coating’s performance. SolidDrops supports enquiries by identifying the intended use, required documentation and scope of work.
Epoxy coating systems
For steel, concrete or equipment, describe moisture, chemicals, abrasion and cleaning. The proposed primer, coating and topcoat need to work together for the intended exposure.
Specified protective systems
Where a project requires fire protection, submit the fire scenario, structural details and approval criteria. Ordinary epoxy paint should not be assumed to provide a fire-resistance rating.

Make the application scope measurable
A useful quotation identifies the surface condition, preparation, coating build-up and inspection responsibilities. Colour and coverage alone do not define a complete coating system.
- Substrate: material, condition, existing paint and repair areas.
- Environment: indoor or outdoor exposure, moisture and process chemicals.
- System: selected products, compatible layers and application instructions.
- Handover: inspection records, curing and maintenance requirements.

Check the specification
Review the proposed product data sheets and any required certificates against the actual service conditions. Confirm preparation, application thickness and inspection requirements for the selected system.
Agree the scope
Separate materials, repairs, preparation, access, application and handover in the proposal. Record exclusions and responsibilities so quotations can be compared consistently.

Before you choose a coating
Is an epoxy coating suitable for continuous immersion?
Only specify immersion service when the exact product and complete system are documented for the stored liquid and operating conditions. An epoxy label by itself is not evidence of suitability.
Can an epoxy coating be used outdoors?
Review the complete system for outdoor exposure, including colour and appearance requirements. Ask the manufacturer which compatible topcoat and maintenance approach are needed for the proposed use.
How is a fire-protection coating selected?
Selection depends on the specified fire scenario, structure, required performance and tested system. The responsible designer and approving party should review the product evidence and thickness schedule. Do not infer a fire rating from an illustration or a general product description.
How long will the coating last?
Service life depends on the selected system, preparation, application, exposure and maintenance. Request project-specific maintenance information and warranty terms in the written proposal rather than relying on a general lifespan claim.
What safety and application documents are needed?
Request the current product data sheet, safety data sheet and application guide for each proposed product. Site controls, ventilation, access and inspection arrangements should be addressed in the project method statement.
